North Bound Detour Removed. 2-Way Traffic Re-Established

Work Performed, September 18th to September 18th   
·         Removal of Northbound Detour. 2-way traffic re-established
·         There will continue to be construction delays as the road work continues; however, work will be done during working hours with flaggers
·         Performed pavement milling of the entire roadway, including intersection of Glenview Road & Harlem Avenue
·         Installed temporary pavement marking tape to delineate lanes.
·         Swept roadway from debris due to construction and milling operations.

Work Anticipated to be Performed, September 25th to September 29th   
·         Evaluate pavement following milling and perform pavement patching as required
·         Complete remaining concrete repairs.
·         Continue with landscape restorations.
·         Depending on work progress, pave first layer of asphalt pavement near the end of the week.

A majority of the concrete base repairs are completed. The pavement will be re-evaluated to determine if any additional pavement patching needs to occur. It is anticipated any additional pavement patching will be performed next week.  Depending on work progress, the first layer of asphalt pavement will be paved.

The northbound detour from Golf Road to Glenview Road has been removed with 2-way traffic being re-established. The remaining work will be performed allowing for 2-way traffic at all times. However, during patching and paving operations flaggers will be utilized to direct traffic around the work zone. Travel delays are expected to continue until project completion.

Pavement Milling Next Week. Expect Travel Delays

Work Performed, September 11th to September 15th  
·         Detour of North Bound Traffic remains in effect.
·         Completed concrete base patching on easterly lanes and intersections.
·         Began concrete base patching on the westerly lanes and intersections.
·         Lowering of manholes in preparation for pavement milling of remainder of roadway.

Work Anticipated to be Performed, September 18th to September 22nd  
·         Detour of North Bound Traffic to remain in effect.
·         Pavement milling of remaining asphalt pavement including:
o   Intersection of Glenview Road and Harlem Avenue
o   Easterly intersections
o   Westerly travel lanes
o   Westerly intersections
·         Continue with concrete base patching

On Monday and Tuesday next week, the contractor will be milling the existing pavement along Glenview Road from Harlem Avenue to Waukegan Road as part of the Harlem Avenue Improvement and the Glenview Road Improvements.  The work has been scheduled to be completed at the same time to reduce the length of travel delays. We do anticipate some travel delays along Glenview Road early next week while the work is on-going, please plan accordingly.

Once the work along Glenview Road is completed, the contractor will continue to mill the remaining asphalt pavement along Harlem Avenue. It is anticipated all asphalt pavement milling will be completed by the end of the week.

Concrete base patching will also continue before and after the pavement milling. Steel plates will continue to be installed over the excavations and poured concrete to allow for access to driveways and intersections to the greatest extent possible.

Work to Begin on West Side of Harlem Avenue

Work Performed, September 5th to September 8th
·         Detour of North Bound Traffic remains in effect.
·         Completed concrete base patching along the east / northbound lanes of Harlem Avenue
·         Continued with concrete base patching along the easterly intersections of Harlem Avenue

Work Anticipated to be Performed, September 11th to September 15th
·         Detour of North Bound Traffic to remain in effect.
·         Concrete base patching completed on the westerly lanes of Harlem Avenue
·         Concrete base patching complete along westerly intersections.

Concrete base patching is continuing to be performed and the northbound detour remains in effect. As previously, steel plates will be installed over the excavations and poured concrete to allow for access to driveways and intersections to the greatest extent possible.

Work Continues on Northbound / East Lanes of Harlem Avenue

Work Performed, August 28th to September 1st  
·         Detour of North Bound Traffic has been established and is currently in affect.
·         Set-up signs for detour route and traffic control devices
·         Milled 2-inches of asphalt pavement on north bound / easterly lanes
·         Removed temporary asphalt and gravel previously installed in water main trench on east side of roadway
·         Began pouring permanent concrete base course over water main trench.

Work Anticipated to be Performed, September 5th to September 8th  
·         No work planned over weekend or Monday, September 4th in observance of Labor Day
·         Complete pouring permanent concrete base course over water main trench on east side of roadway
·         Perform additional concrete patching as needed on east side of roadway

During the excavation, concrete installation, and curing period, steel plates will continue to be installed at each driveway and intersection to allow for vehicular access. There will be times when access will not be possible at certain intersections and driveways while construction is on-going.  Access is anticipated to be re-established at the end of each work day.
