Concrete Curb and Gutter and Sidewalk Replacements to be Completed on East Side of Harlem Avenue.

Work Performed, July 31st to August 11th
·         Concrete curb & gutter and sidewalk replacement along the east side of Harlem Avenue from Harrison Street to Glenview Road
·         Concrete curb & gutter and sidewalk replacement along the west side of Harlem Avenue from Glenview Road to Henley Street
·         Traffic Signal Improvements at the intersections of Glenview Road & Harlem Avenue, Dewes Street & Harlem Avenue, Central Road & Harlem Avenue.

Work Anticipated to be Performed, August 14th to August 18th

·         Continue with concrete curb & gutter and sidewalk replacement on the east and west side of Harlem Avenue.
  • Complete work on East Side of Harlem Avenue.

Residents will continue to be notified via a hand-delivered letter by the Village of Glenview should driveway access be restricted during concrete curb & gutter or sidewalk replacement.

There has been some miscommunication regarding the schedule of work to be performed.  The Village has had several conversations to ensure the work is performed in the proper order to allow for pedestrian access.  Please be assured, the Village will do everything possible to ensure the sidewalk is poured as quickly as possible along the east side of the project prior to removing additional concrete curb & gutter and sidewalk on the west side of the street.

The Village is working with the contractor to determine the timeframe for completing the concrete curb & gutter and sidewalk repairs.  Once that work is completed, a detour will be set up for north bound traffic.  Southbound traffic will be allowed on Harlem Avenue, but northbound traffic will be detoured along Golf Road to Shermer Road to Glenview Road. We anticipate the detour will be set-up in the next 2 to 3 weeks and will last approximately 1 month.

Thanks again for all your patience during the construction project.
